WonderWorks Orlando – A Good Place to Spend a Rainy Afternoon in Orlando Florida

Well if you have lived here or visited here in the summer, you know that it rains in the afternoon quite often. So you need some of those rainy-day activities planned for these days. One really fun place to spend the afternoon is WonderWorks Orlando.

The first thing you will notice as you drive up to this building is the entire building appears to be upside down! It’s an interesting illusion and a good photo opportunity. I believe it certainly is, as they advertise, Orlando’s only upside down attraction.

WonderWorks bills themselves as an “amusement park for the mind” with more than 100 interactive exhibits the whole family will enjoy. One is the Shuttle Landers where you will sit down in a space shuttle and land it on an airstrip. It’s pretty cool, the kids will love it.

On another exhibit you pilot a fighter jet with some amazing visual effects.

One area allows you to stand in front of a blue screen and either choose basketball or soccer, and then with some sort of blue screen magic, you appear to be playing in a basketball or soccer game. Real neat.

There is also an earthquake simulator, a bubble lab, a bed of nails (does not sound comfy!), a WonderWall where you press into the wall and make an impression of your entire body, a virtual reality rollercoaster, and more.

You can also play Lazer Tag in an area of more than 10,000 square feet.

A video arcade area has plenty of games to enjoy like air hockey, Daytona USA racing game, and plenty more fun games for kids and adults alike.

There’s a cafe and of course a gift shop, so if you want to take a break just stop into the cafe and have a slice of pizza or a hot dog.

WonderWorks Orlando probably won’t keep you entertained for an entire day but it’s just perfect when your afternoon activities get rained out and you need something interesting, educational, and fun to do for the rest of the day.
