Whole Foods Market in Winter Park

Anyone else shop at Whole Foods Market? I admit that I don’t go there as often as I’d like to for a couple of reasons. One is because they are in Winter Park which is not anywhere near where I live, and two, I spend way too much money when I go there. I can hardly ever get out of there for less than $150 and that is for a small bag or two of groceries.
I just get all caught up in all their organic products, and so many things you can’t find in your usual everyday Publix or Albertson’s. But I end up buying a lot that I don’t need. Well I do that all the time anyway come to think of it.
Anyway, last time I was there I bought a box of organic peanut butter cookies which no one ate for some reason. I have no idea why because they were actually very good. But I just found them in my pantry and tossed them into the garbage yesterday. Let’s see, what else. Some natural deodorant, aluminum free. Actually they had quite a good selection so I would recommend it. You are not supposed to use the aluminum kind you know. You did know, right? I used to think that was an old wives’ tale but now it seems like it is true. I mean think about it, you are putting metal on your skin, and then it is absorbed into your body. Can that be good for you?
But I digress as always. They have a great selection if you need some aluminum-free deodorant. They actually smell good too. But I have to say I love their meat department. Last time I was there I got some really awesome ribeye steaks. Oh that reminds me, I went to eat dinner at a friend’s house last Christmas and they had THE most delicious steaks. Absolutely stupendous. I inquired as to where she had gotten a hold of these things and she said they were from Whole Foods and were actually buffalo. Buffalo! Can you imagine? Who would have thought? You know, now that I am typing this I’m thinking I will take a jaunt over to Whole Foods tomorrow and pick up some of those steaks.
So, they also have aged steaks which I have not tried. That’s on my list of things to do though. I think it was still summer when I was there last and they had some awesome blackberries. Really huge.
Oh, speaking of blackberries, you know where I got the most absolutely awesome blackberries EVER this summer? Over at Clemons produce by my house. They had just gotten a shipment in from South Carolina and they had these quart baskets overflowing with these beautiful, sweet, delicious blackberries. I’ll have to write a separate post about this produce place, it’s quite good.
Okay back to the subject at hand. Oh yes, they did have one of my favorite fish types available that day which was sea bass but it was like $25.00 a pound so I decided I didn’t care to spend 50 bucks for dinner that I was going to cook at home. Seriously? For that much I’d rather go out. I do love sea bass though. When my dad was alive he would go out on the deep sea fishing trips over at Cape Canaveral and always brought home a bunch of sea bass. I wonder if he had any idea he could sell it for $25 a pound.
So bottom line is you should definitely head over to Whole Foods when you have a spare $200 or empty space on your credit card, and stock up! Okay? That’s all I have to say about that right now.
