Universal Orlando Florida – What are the Best Rides at Universal Studios Orlando?

Besides Disney, there is another popular theme park you can try when you travel Orlando Florida, and that is Universal Orlando Florida. Remember that there are two separate areas at this resort including Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida.

I’ve been visiting Universal since they opened, and I normally buy an annual pass since I live here. That way I don’t feel like I have to go there at the second they open in the morning and stay all day until they close. And I must say I am partial to Islands of Adventure, but I do like Universal as well.

So if you are planning to spend the day at Universal, what are some of the best rides there? Well I’ll tell you what’s NOT there and that is King Kong. That was one fun ride, no doubt about it. I was really upset to hear they were closing it. But that seems to be a thing the theme parks do on a regular basis, close rides which are maybe some of the best they have.

They did the same thing with Earthquake. I very much miss those two rides.

Okay so let’s talk about rides that are there now instead of how annoyed I am that they closed King Kong and Earthquake.

You will probably want to check out the new Simpsons ride which took over yet another closed ride, Back to the Future. I have not yet gone over to check out this new ride, but a friend of mine did and said it is “okay.” She took her nephews with her and they said it was pretty good. Not being a Simpsons fan myself, it’s not high on my priority list to experience.

Revenge of the Mummy is fun, I do like that ride a lot. It is located in the same place King Kong was. King Kong was better, but the mummy ride is a lot of fun. It’s probably one of my favorite rides there now at Universal Orlando Florida.

Men in Black is also one that I always ride when I visit. Supposedly you are protecting the earth from an attack of aliens. You ride and spin (not too much, I don’t like spinning rides) and zap aliens. They say it’s never the same ride twice but it seems really similar to me. It’s fun though, you should enjoy this one.

Shrek 4-D is a motion simulator ride that some people love and others hate. I like them to an extent, but sometimes they make me dizzy. This one is entertaining, fans of Shrek will like it.

E.T. Adventure. I have always loved this ride, and frankly that is probably the kiss of death and we’ll be seeing it close soon. I hope not but they have closed all the other great rides! So maybe this one will stick around. I highly recommend it. Especially on a hot day, it’s so nice and cool in there. Thrill seekers may not enjoy it but I think it’s an awesome ride.

Fear Factor Live. I don’t know how this one is, there is no way I would step foot in there.

Jaws. I like this ride a lot. It’s another one that’s been around for a while, let’s hope they don’t close it. Everyone should give it a try, it’s fun!

There are more rides and attractions but these are the ones I felt worthy of mention for now. Enjoy your visit to Universal Orlando Florida and ride these before they close them!
