Travel Orlando FL – What is the Best Time of Year to Visit Disney World?

Disney World is fun! Everyone should go at some time in their life. If you are going to travel Orlando FL you surely don’t want to leave Walt Disney World out of your plans. Who would want to come here and not visit the most popular theme park? But what is the best time of year to visit Disney World or does it matter?

Of course the best time of the year is going to be the time when the crowds are least. Believe me, you’ll have a much better time if you are not standing in 2-hour lines for every ride or show, and it will be a much more enjoyable vacation for you and your family.

The busiest times of the year for Disney World are usually going to be Christmas and the surrounding dates, New Year’s, Thanksgiving and the surrounding dates, Easter weekend, and Spring Break (the worst – avoid if possible).

Just remember that any time school is out there are going to be more people at the theme parks including Disney World.

Now, when are the less busy times? No times are totally dead or really slow but some times are a little less crowded. These times might be after the Thanksgiving holidays are finished and just into the first week in December, then just after New Year’s Day and right on to right before President’s Day. September and October are pretty good for avoiding major crowds too because the kids are going back to school then. You might get lucky in May as well because most kids are still in school at that time and there are no major holidays.

You can usually tell when the non-busy times are because you’ll notice the parks operate under shorter hours. They will be opening later or closing earlier. This is also when rides will be closed for repairs if needed, and some shows may be shown during limited times.

So even though it’s more crowded during the summer and during holidays, that is when the best shows are. So you are trading off a few positives to avoid the crowds but it’s probably a good trade-off because it’s just so much nicer to travel Orlando FL and visit the parks when there are not so many people in attendance.
