About 10 years ago I used to go immediately to the travel agent down the road any time I was planning a vacation. I never even looked online, or if I did it wasn’t too serious. I just decided hey, I’m going on a trip, and then I got in my car and drove to the travel agent we always used. So what’s the deal these days with travel agents in Orlando Florida, is that still the best option or should you be buying all your tickets online?

I think it depends. Great answer, right? Well unless you need tickets in a hurry it’s best to look online for your tickets both at the online travel agencies as well as directly at the websites, and also check the brick and mortar travel agencies in your area, or at least one of them. Every now and then the real live travel agent can help you get more of a discount. Not always. But there is one great reason to use a real person travel agent and that is in case something goes wrong. I had that happen once and needed to leave my hotel and move to another hotel. Because I had used an offline travel agency I was able to call up the agent, tell them what happened, and have them fix the situation for me. If I had booked online I’m not sure how the situation would have been handled. It might have been okay, but it probably wouldn’t have been so easy.

But on the other hand I have had many successful trips using the online travel agencies like Travelocity. If it’s airfare you’re looking for, I recommend looking online at the travel agencies and also directly at the company websites. Sometimes (not always) you will pay a bit more by going through places like Expedia and Travelocity.

So the bottom line is, as far as travel agents in Orlando Florida, sometimes they still are better but it really depends on your situation. It’s probably worth dropping in just to see what they have to offer if you have the time.
