Restaurants Orlando Florida – What are Some Good Restaurants in Orlando Florida?

If you are planning a vacation in Orlando Florida you are probably like me and you would like to try some new places to eat…meaning restaurants you don’t find on every corner in every city. So what are some good restaurants in Orlando Florida and surrounding areas?

If you like Italian I know of two excellent family-owned restaurants. One is called Palma Maria and is located in Casselberry off of 436. I eat there now and again with a friend of mine who lives over there, and the food is great. The bread is simply awesome and the pasta is homemade and wonderful. It is a fairly small place and the service is NOT speedy. So don’t visit this restaurant if you’re in a hurry. Go when you plan to have a leisurely lunch or dinner with friends or family and when you are not in a hurry at all. It’s well worth the wait.

The other Italian restaurant I love is called Amalfi and is over off of Lake Underhill in the Rio Pinar Plaza in Orlando. This is a wonderful little Italian place that is again family owned. The bread here also is fab. I’m a big fan of bread, you probably noticed.

There’s a Chinese buffet called China First in Altamonte Springs that I like because they have crab legs. I love crab legs and they are usually good here. The Chinese food is pretty good also but the crab legs are what I go for.

If you happen to be out at Epcot at Disney World you can find some great restaurants, and there is a little fish and chips place in the United Kingdom area that is fabulous. It’s nothing fancy but quite good.

For catfish you must go to The Catfish Place in Apopka. Wonderful catfish (get the bone-in), super hush puppies, and even excellent cole slaw and sweet tea. I’ve been going there for at least 15 years, love it.

Off of East Highway 50 (Colonial Drive) in Orlando you can drop by Hotdog Heaven. This little place gets rave reviews and deserves it. Love their chili dogs. Don’t miss it if you are a hot dog fan. It is certainly not one of the fancy restaurants in Orlando Florida but if you love a great hot dog this is the place to go. The food is delicious and even the service is top notch.
