Orlando Travel Discounts – Are Those Discount Ticket Locations in Orlando Real?
Have you been searching for Orlando travel discounts and noticing all the stores and signs saying they have discount tickets for all of the Orlando area attractions like Disney World, Sea World, and Universal? Feeling a little skeptical? Are they real or a scam?
Well the truth is some of them are legitimate and a lot of them are scams. You’ll find a lot of these places along highway 192 which is a very touristy area.
The legitimate ones are still a big pain though because almost all of them require you to listen to a timeshare presentation/spiel and even though they may tell you it will only be 90 minutes long, often it is a lot longer. Plus they don’t let you go easily. A relative of mine routinely goes to these presentations and she actually comes away with free tickets, so I know that some of them are for real. But there are times she is there far beyond the amount of time they tell you. Her sister tried doing it one time and she wasn’t as firm with them as she should have been, and she ended up wasting her entire day. She did get the free tickets but she said it most definitely was not worth it for the hassle.
So my recommendation is avoid these places unless you really don’t mind going through all this trouble just for a free or discounted ticket. You may come away with elevated blood pressure! Seriously, they are not fun no matter how easy it sounds. If you do go for one please do make sure they are legitimate and not going to scam you in some way.
The best way to find discounted tickets is to go through AAA or see if the park has any promotions going on like discounts on soda cans or possibly Florida resident discounts if you live in the state. You can also check the Orlando Sentinel for discounts, especially the Calendar section in Friday’s paper. There are also some other little local magazines that you can find in the hotel lobbies and sometimes in the lobbies or restaurants, and you might find some discount coupons in there. Never to Disney, but possible to the other theme parks.
Just be careful when looking for Orlando travel discounts because most of the time if it seems too good to be true it is.
