Orlando Florida Vacation – How Many Days are Needed for a Vacation in Orlando Florida?
So you’re looking forward to getting away from the rat race and starting your Orlando Florida vacation. I don’t blame you, I wish I could take a vacation every week. One of these days, that’s what I keep telling myself. But I digress, we’re talking about your vacation, not mine! So how many days are needed for a vacation in Orlando?
Usually when I go on a vacation I like to take anywhere from 5 to 10 days. That is mostly because I have a lot of animals and they require that someone be home, so I don’t like to leave them in the care of others for too long. If you don’t have this issue you can visit Orlando for up to 2 weeks and that would be great. But shorter time is okay too.
First of all, if you are going to the theme parks, you will want a day for each one, and possible 2 days or more for a few of them. You could actually make your whole visit all about Disney World and spend the whole time there. You’ve got the 4 major parks which are Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. Each of these parks is worthy of an entire day, and you might even find you want to return to one of the parks again. I really don’t recommend trying to go from park to park in one day, it’s really tiresome. There is so much to see and do in just one park, you’ll simply exhaust yourself. Best thing to do, if you are going to have a Disney-only vacation, is stay at one of the hotels at Disney. It’s really nice and so convenient to do that. You’ve also got all the transportation you need and won’t even have to rent a car. You can take a shuttle from the airport, and then use the monorail and buses to get around. You can even spend a day or more over at Downtown Disney where you’ll find plenty of shopping, restaurants, and shows. There is also Disney Quest over there for the kids (and adults) which is a virtual reality indoor theme park.
So in the case of only going to Disney World, I would go ahead and stay at least a week.
If you plan to take in some other parks such as Sea World and Universal, you might want to stay for 10 or 12 days. If you try to do all the Disney parks and the other parks in a week, you’ll be so tired you might not enjoy yourself. Also, you may want to spend a day at a nearby beach too, as there are many beaches close to Orlando. That’s a way to relax in between theme parks and revive yourself. So don’t forget to plan one relaxing day.
You can do Sea World in one day, no problem. But once there you might see Aquatica and decide you need to spend at least half a day at that amazing new water park. Universal requires two days because you have 2 parks to visit, both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I wouldn’t miss either one but if I had to choose only one I’d pick Islands of Adventure. Great park, wonderful themed areas, and some super duper rides.
So how many days are needed on your Orlando Florida vacation? My opinion is at least a week to a week and a half. You can visit for a shorter time though and just come back later for the rest if you’d rather take a shorter vacation.
