Don’t Miss Face the Fear Haunted House in Sanford Florida
It may be a little late for a post about haunted houses in Florida since you might have already made your Halloween plans, but if you have some free time either tonight or Halloween night, and if you are anywhere near Sanford/Lake Mary area, you really should make it a point to visit Face the Fear.
I cannot call myself a haunted house aficionado but I’ve been to my fair share of them over the years, from the lame to the pretty decent. The best in my opinion have always been at Universal for Halloween Horror Nights, but I hate the lines which are usually hours long. And sometimes the houses are good and sometimes not.
Anyway, I went with my family to this Face the Fear haunted house tonight because we were just looking for something to do in the area and I found it with a search online. It had a couple good reviews so off we went. I was not expecting that much to be honest.
First indication of good things was there were lots of cars in the parking lot and a pretty long line of people waiting in line. We encountered a security guard as we walked up to the end of the line, and he was telling us that they do a different theme for the haunted house every year, and this year is the Schohoffer Sleep Institute theme. A “doctor” came over to chat with us about volunteering to participate in their “sleep study” and she was very realistic, had the white coat, clipboard, the works. There was another kind of creepier looking “doctor” who was leading groups of people inside the haunted house in groups of about 4 or 5 at a time. They were both quite good.
For entertainment while waiting in line there was the creepy doc and also a big screen TV playing a continuous loop of music videos featuring “sleep” as the theme. You could also hear screams from inside as you were waiting in line.
Well, I will not spoil the fun for those who plan to experience this house, but it was amazing. Extremely scary, and we all thought they did a fantastic job. I have not seen better at Universal. Seriously. Also, it’s not that short at all, so don’t expect to be out of there in 5 minutes.
Another plus? It is only 5 bucks. You can read about it at http://www.facethefearhouse.com and you can get directions and see the hours but FYI it is open the 29th and 30th from 7:30 to 10, and then on the 31st from 8 to 11. Obviously you’ve missed the 29th already but if you have a chance tonight or tomorrow, head over! You won’t be sorry, it’s a lot of fun. It was called the best haunted house in Central Florida and it very well may be.
