The Exotic Bird Society of America Exotic Bird Expo is Coming Up October 26, 2008 in Orlando
If you are interested in purchasing a baby parrot, a pair of parrots, an adult parrot, bird toys at great prices, bird cages at super prices, you need to go to the exotic bird expo.
It’s going to be at its usual place, the Central Florida Fairgrounds on West Highway 50 (Colonial Drive) and I think is the last one this year. I usually go becase I have 2 African Grey parrots and I love to buy toys there for them. You can get GREAT toys really cheap. Also excellent deals on cages. There are tons of vendors, raffles, and lots of baby birds for sale. I got one of my Congo African Greys there about 4 years ago and he is great. The price was I believe $550 which is, as you may know, really good compared to what you’d find in the pet stores.
One thing I will caution you on if you plan to buy a parrot at the expo is to make sure the seller offers a certain number of days to get a vet check, and if there are any problems they will take the bird back. And then go get the vet check. That way you are assured of a healthy pet. All reputable sellers should have no problem with this and most will tell you to do this anyway.
The cages you will find there will shock you at how inexpensive they are. For example, a cage that you can go into Petsmart and pay $400 for will be about $125 at the expo.
It is just a great place to go for people that enjoy parrots. You’ll find everything from little finches and lovebirds to cockatoos of all kinds, amazons, canaries, african greys, and macaws to name only a few.
The hours are 9 to 4 and the admision is $5.00.
