Epcot Orlando Florida – What is Your Favorite Country at Epcot in the World Showcase?

When visiting Epcot Orlando Florida, the main area is the World Showcase which is centered around a man-made lagoon. You’ll find 11 countries represented as you stroll around the lagoon. I think this is one of the most interesting places in the entire Walt Disney World Resort, and you’ll find some of the best shopping and dining of any place.

I like to drive over to Epcot just to wander around and look in the shops in the different countries, and sometimes grab lunch or dinner. The countries represented include United States, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, Mexico, Japan, Canada, Morocco, France, and United Kingdom. In each country you’ll find such things as wonderful places to eat, unique shops, exhibits, rides, movies, and performers. The cast members who work in each country are actually from that country which is kind of cool.

One of the areas I always make a point to visit is Germany because they have lots of great chocolate. And they have cuckcoo clocks which I absolutely love. There are a lot of other interesting things to look at in the shops there too, and I always enjoy my time in the Germany area.

The United Kingdom area has a great little Fish and Chips place called Yorkshire County Fish Shop. I love their food there, but don’t expect a large variety. My only complaint is there are not very many tables outside to eat at, and for some unexplained reason you will often find “guards” (employees standing guard) not allowing you into the main area where the tables are located. So you have to wander around looking for a place to sit down and eat. If there aren’t any seats around, you can walk to the left and over the little hill and you’ll find lots more seating over that way. Anyway, I put up with the annoying seating problem because I really like the food.

In Norway you can ride the Maelstrom, a Viking boat that takes you through a Viking village and a mythical forest. It’s a pleasant ride and the lines are usually not very long. The shops here sell local snacks, chocolate, Nordic sweets, and Swedish preserves.

Italy has a great restaurant called Tutto Italia where you can get authentic Italian food. And don’t forget the quaint Italian shops where you can pick up some souvenirs.

The other countries are just as interesting and definitely can take quite a long time to explore so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy yourself without rushing. If you love browsing the shops and soaking up the cultures of other countries you’ll really enjoy the World Showcase at Epcot Orlando Florida.
