Downtown Disney Orlando Florida – Can I Shop at Downtown Disney Without Paying Admission to the Park?

No trip to Orlando would be complete without a trip to Downtown Disney Orlando Florida, but does it require that you pay for an admission to Walt Disney World in order to go?

Nope, it does not! You can go to Downtown Disney any time free of charge and enjoy the day shopping and browsing and eating in the restaurants. Great news, huh?

But what is there to do there anyway?

One of the most fun things to do if you have kids is Disney Quest, which is an indoor interactive theme park featuring virtual reality rides, arcades, It is a 5-story building which is much more than just an “arcade,” as you might think. Each floor represents a different type of activity zones including Entry Zone, Explore Zone, Score Zone, Create Zone, and Replay Zone. There are virtual reality rides such as the Jungle Cruise and Aladdin’s Magic Carpet Ride. Once you go in and pay your entry fee, all the rides and games are free of charge. You can stay all day if you want to, and most kids do. If you need a break and a bite to eat you can visit the food and refreshment area for lunch. I highly recommend Disney Quest. Don’t miss it if you have kids.

Of course there is also Cirque du Soleil La Nouba which I blogged about earlier. Absolutely not to be missed. Worth the trip all by itself.

The House of Blues is another place to spend some time and maybe grab some lunch or dinner. Check to see if there is a concert on any of the nights you plan to be in town.

The Virgin Records Megastore is also located at Downtown Disney Orlando Florida, and music fans can spend hours there browsing. It’s a huge place!

Check out some of the many unique shops to kill some time, and do some people watching, and then take in a move at the huge movie theater. For dinner you might choose to try out the Rainforest Cafe.

Downtown Disney Orlando Florida is a lot of fun and deserves to be on your schedule of activities.
