Barnes & Noble Nook Reader EReader Review

I stopped in to Barnes & Noble the other day when I was visiting my mom. We were having lunch at a restaurant at the Winter Garden Village and I always like to visit B&N because where I live we only have Books A Million in either direction. So I like to browse B&N. They have a lot of great books in the bargain books area, I’ve made some awesome finds for pretty much nothing. I ended up buying a few books and a couple of videos, and when I went to check out the cashier started talking about their new Nook reader or Ereader, however you would like to refer to it. It is like Kindle. Well the funny thing was I had just been looking at Kindle and was thinking about asking for one for Christmas. So when the Barnes & Noble employee started talking about the Barnes and Noble Nook I was really interested in finding out more about it. I asked her a bunch of questions, and it sounds really good. Also, it will be in stores at the end of November so you can go into the store and try it out for yourself. I think that’s a great benefit over Kindle. I like to actually pick things up and hold them and examine them before making a purchase decision whenever possible. Of course that is usually not possible online but still. I like the idea of it. So I did check out the Barnes & Noble Nook reader when I got home, or actually later that night when I thought about it, and to be honest, it looks really good. I’m thinking of changing my mind about the Kindle now and going with the Nook E-reader instead. Since it isn’t out yet it’s going to be tough to find actual reviews of people using it, but if you look at the comparison the B&N Nook comes out ahead (in my opinion). A lot of the things are the same. They both have a 6-inch display, adjustable text size, ability to shop for ebooks wirelessly, free samples of ebooks, newspapers and magazines, and so forth. But where it seems like the Nook might be better is it has a color touch screen, touch control, quick library view by book cover, Wi-Fi, memory expansion ability, more than a million titles available, exclusive content in Barnes & Noble, sharing and syncing with not only iPhone, iPod touch, etc., but also Blackberry, and “Lend Me” technology which allows you to share and lend between Nook,  iPhone, iPod touch, BlackBerry, PC, and Mac. Oh and the other plus which is being able to go into the store to see it in person. So after I read all those comparisons I think I have been converted to Nook reader to be added to my Christmas list. But I will probably go check it out in the store first when it’s available.
